Nordic Hydro GO continued to fall during the first two weeks of July, reaching 39 and 60 Eurocent/MWh for 2019 and 2020 production respectively. However, prices began to rise toward the end of the month and closed at 44 (2019) and 84.5 (2020) Eurocent/MWh corresponding to increases of 1% and 20% respectively. The prices of 2018 production ranged between 15 and 20 Eurocent/MWh in July and it is currently trading at 13 Eurocent/MWh.
There was a resurgence in trading activity during July. The number of Nordic Hydro trades conducted by our data partners rose by 50%, whereas total volumes more than doubled. Trading was primarily focused on forward contracts, particularly on 2021 production.
