Germany is the largest producer of renewable electricity in Europe. Electricity production from renewable sources (RES-E) amounted to 206 TWh in 2017, out of 602 TWh total electricity production (including nuclear and fossil). Wind accounted for 50% of RES-E generation, followed by Biomass and Solar.
