Nordic Hydro GO prices continued to fall in February and are now trading at levels last seen in March 2018. Prices fell 34% on average for 2018, 2019 and 2020 production compared to the previous month. Nordic Hydro 2018 production fell by 37%, closing the month at 51 Eurocent/MWh. Prices for 2019 and 2020 production followed a similar trajectory to that of 2018 production, closing February at 95 Eurocent/MWh and 98 Eurocent/MWh respectively, corresponding to a decrease of 32% for each production period.
Despite falling prices, the number of Nordic Hydro trades increased by 30% in February. Average volumes traded were however lower in February compared to January. Trades were centred around 2019 and 2020 production, with diminishing volumes of 2018 production.
