Change to the regulation of Elcerts to come into effect on the 1st of January 2019

Today, the Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy adopted an amendment to the regulation pertaining to El-certificates in Norway. The amendment includes a technical adjustment of the yearly Elcert quotas and will come into effect on the 1st of January 2019.

The change affects paragraph 19a in the regulation from 16th December 2011 nr. 1398 on el certificates (accessible here).

The following table shows the new El-certificate quota alongside the old quota and the respective change for each year.

The level of electricity required to be backed by El-certificates is equivalent to the amount of electricity sourced in a given year, multiplied by the corresponding Elcert quota. The following are...
