The recent inauguration of Norway’s first-of-its-kind biogas plant in Stord, Western Norway, has marked a new era of Norwegian biogas adventure. State-of-the-art Norwegian technology “Antec Bio converters”, which is believed to be a game-changer for anaerobic digestion (AD) technology, is to be used to produce biogas.
The new biogas plant produces liquefied biomethane, liquid CO2, and high-quality bio-fertilisers by utilising local organic materials from fisheries (fish silage), aquaculture, and agriculture as feedstocks. It can, in total, treat 55 000 tons of waste and produce the equivalent of renewable energy for 4 000 households annually. In transport terms, this amount can supply trucks with biofuels for 15 million kilometres per year.
The plant is equipped with ten Antec Bio converters for biogas producti...
