Statkraft has entered several long-term wind-PPAs with a number of community wind farms in Niedersachsen, Germany. The PPA bundle comprises six wind parks with 31 turbines with a combined capacity of 46 MW. The individual contracts have terms of three to five years. This means that these wind farms in Germany can continue to operate in the long term after the expiry of the EEG subsidy.
The expected generation, assuming a capacity factor of around 15% yields approx. 60 GWh a year. The green electricity will be used in the future for the supply of industrial companies. Greenfact has confirmed that the associated Guarantees of Origin are part of the PPA.
The agreed power purchase agreements between Germany's largest direct marketer and the community wind farms are a novelty in the German energy industry.
