New power in third quarter of 2017 in Norway

A recent quarterly report from NVE - The Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate - about power development and concessions in Norway, reveals that 6.5 TWh of new power production is under construction in Norway. This number is comparable to the previous quarter.  As of today, 17.1 TWh of production has been given final authorization, which are either under construction or not registered as completed.

In third quarter 2017, 13 hydropower plants were given final permission, with yearly estimated production of 167 GWh. In addition, Stokkfjellet wind power plant was given final concession, contributing 270 GWh. In the first three quarters of 2017, 2.1 TWh of new power production has been given final approval in Norway.
