Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy invited industry players to weigh in on how to improve the current GO-scheme

As the Ministry of Petroleum and Energy (OED) registers an increasing interest for the voluntary scheme, several Norwegian industry players express negativity towards the current GO-system. 

The open meeting, arranged together with NVE, attracted more than a dozen industry players weighing in on GOs and fuel mix disclosure (FMD). Three groups were specially invited by OED; Energi Norge, Norsk Industri and Kinect Energy Group.

It was Norsk Industry that strongly expressed negativity towards today’s GO scheme, arguing from an industrial policy viewpoint, suggesting to withdraw the AIB-membership. Their input for improvement of the current system is to no longer trade GOs within the AIB-countries, but that every producer receives GOs equivalent to their production.
