EBA releases 2022 statistical report

On 7 December 2022, the EBA officially launched the latest and twelfth instalment of their annual report, detailing the key figures and trends for 2021 for biomethane and biogas in Europe.

The EBA was keen to highlight a 20% increase in biomethane production to 3.5 bcm, a value which is expected to show an even sharper increase in 2022 due to pressure on gas supply stemming from the Ukraine crisis and associated with REPowerEU plans.
