The FuelEU Maritime proposal, introduced in April 2022, was adopted by the European Parliament on 19 October 2022. The decision-making process has currently been in progress with the second trilogue being concluded just before the end of the year. The trilogue is expected to continue until the end of Q1 2023.
The European Parliament adopted the FuelEU Maritime proposal on 19 October 2022 and since then ongoing trilogue negotiations have continued. The second trilogue was recently conducted and concluded on 14 December 2022, leading to some criteria being agreed upon and some issues to be continued for further discussions.
