On 13 October 2022, the GGCS released their market update essentially covered events to the end of Q3 2022. Issuances and cancellations remained at a high level following Q1 and Q2 trends.
Looking at participants in the register, 2022 YTD shows a similar increase to previous years:
In 2020, the number of traders exceeded the number of producers in the program, perhaps reflecting the growing interest in RGGOs as a commodity, with both membership types rising steadily ever since.
Retirements YTD are already at their highest numbers ever, more than 3.6 TWh with the previous annual high in 2019 2.5 TWh. For 2022, retirements have exceeded 1 TWh each quarter.
