Iberdola plans 'Europe's largest' solar-storage-hydrogen facility

Iberdrola SA plans to develop a landmark solar-plus-storage and a 20-MW electrolyzer for the production of green hydrogen in the industrial city of Puertollano, Spain. It is set to be the largest industrial green hydrogen facility in Europe once complete.

The Spanish energy utility has partnered with fertilizer producer Fertiberia to develop the plant which will pair 100MW of solar PV, a 20MWh lithium-ion battery system, and a 20MW electrolyzer, aimed at being one of the largest electrolytic hydrogen production systems in the world.
