On 1 December 2022 the AIB held its annual meeting, presenting upcoming changes to modernise the AIB Hub and member registries. Key developments consist of the inclusion of additional attributes on GO certificates such as granularity, facilitating hourly-tracked EACs, and GOs for hydrogen and energy storage.
The new message schema will go live on 1 February 2023, with AIB members implementing changes during 2023. This introduces new features such as:
- Energy carriers. AIB members can start issuing EECS GOs on energy gases and hydrogen, including information on gas attributes, composition, gas production capacity.
- Various options to track energy storage (onsite storage or GOs issued on energy released from storage) and conversions (production directly from primary energy source or tracked conversion).
