Fraport to use green electricity at Germany’s Frankfurt Airport

In an effort to meet its climate protection targets, German airport operator Fraport has announced its plans to procure 350 GWh of offshore wind power to source around 85% of the electricity at Frankfurt Airport by 2025. 

By 2030, Fraport aims to increase the airport's green electricity share to 94% and decrease its annual CO2 emissions from 170 000 to 80 000 tonnes. From 2050, it aims to become carbon neutral and eliminate all emissions.
