Orsted to offload Danish utility unit in USD 3.2bn deal

The Danish energy company Orsteds stated it had sold its domestic utility business to SEAS-NVE for more than $3bn on 18 September. This comes after delays due to political opposition to the sale.

Plans for divestment had been announced by Orsted more than a year ago, to raise capital towards renewable energy investments and to position itself as a major player in offshore wind. The deal is expected to close in the first half of 20...
