French parliament adopts energy bill planning CO2 neutrality

The French National Assembly gave the final go-ahead on Wednesday (11 September) to the government's energy and climate bill that targets carbon neutrality by 2050.

Also in the bill is a call for a reduction in the nuclear electricity mix, from 75% currently to 50% by 2035. However, this represents a delay of 10 years from previous plans and has been criticised by some environmentalists.
