Corporations have signed clean energy Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) totalling 8.6 GW globally throughout July 2019. This is an increase of 19% from the 7.2 GW signed during the same period in 2018 according to Bloomberg New Energy Finance.

According to their Corporate Energy Market Outlook, US-based agreements accounted for 69% of the global capacity under PPAs (5.95 GW), with the state of Texas accounting for 40% of the US total. Such agreements are less frequently used in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, with only 950 MW contracted under PPAs until end of July 2019. The Nordics accounted for 300 MW of deals, with solar technology PPAs in Sweden emerging for the first time.
