Greenfact, an independent market intelligence provider for green certificates, has appointed Marie Thuestad as CEO.
Thuestad brings 17 years of experience from the energy sector, all spent at the European power exchange Nord Pool. Thuestad is currently Director Strategy, M&A and People at Nord Pool. Previous positions at Nord Pool include Chief Operating Officer, Business Development Manager and Director Markets.
“We are transforming Greenfact into a green-tech company with ambitions to offer a global market intelligence platform for managing carbon exposure. We are thrilled to have Marie Thuestad join and lead Greenfact in building this position,“ says Espen Zachariassen.
He is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Greenfact and CEO of Greenfact’s majority owner, Alytic – part of Arendals Fossekompani. Other Greenfact owners include Arctic Securities and Cleanworld.
Following Alytic’s acquisition of a majority stake in Greenfact ten months ago, Greenfact has invested heavily in competence and technology, tripling the number of employees. “We are still looking for more carbon market experts, and talents on the technology side of our operations,” says Zachariassen.
Marie Thuestad joins Greenfact no later than October 1, 2022. She is looking forward to taking on her new role. "I find it motivating to lead an international and very knowledgeable group of people on a mission to positively contribute to the global net-zero transformation. It is also inspiring to have such competent and capable owners. It provides favorable conditions for success,” says Thuestad.
