Microsoft, a RE100 member, has pledged to run its data centres on 50% renewable energy by 2018. From 2014, Microsoft has been powering its global operations entirely on renewables. Microsoft also places high value on transparency and has stated that they will publish an annual report of their total energy consumption, the mix of sources of the power they use and where they invest in renewable energy certificates. Furthermore, the company wants to improve the efficiency of their computing infrastructure, datacentre, servers, and software performance by further investments in research.
