Poland’s lower house of Parliament has approved a revision to the Renewables Act which marks a significant development for onshore wind in the country. The legislation includes plans to hold an auction in 2019 for 2.5 GW of new onshore wind capacity. The plans are due to be approved by the Polish Senate at the end of this month.
It also set rules that strengthen the Guarantees of Origin (GOs) scheme, which is set to further strengthen the growth of corporate renewable Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) in Poland.
