Trading continued to slow in May, the number of trades by our data partners fell by 23%, and volumes traded decreased by 30%. Trading was centred around GOs from 2019 production, followed by 2020 production, while vintages 2018 and 2021 saw fewer number of trades.
Monthly volume-weighted average prices (VWAP) fell by 22% on average for all technologies and vintages in May. Nordic Hydro production years 2018 and 2019 saw the highest decrease, of 35% and 37% respectively. Generic volume weighted average prices (VWAPs) from 2018 production ranged between 24 and 57 Eurocent/MWh depending on the technology. GOs from 2019 saw VWAPs ranging from 64 to 81 Eurocent/MWh. The average price decrease from the beginning of January for all GOs amounted to 51% at the end of May.
