Following the electricity disclosure deadline at the end of March for most AIB countries, trading decreased in April. Market activity slowed during the Easter holiday and the number of trades by our data partners fell by 25%, and volumes traded decreased by 18%. Trading was centred around GOs from 2019 production, followed by 2020 production. Vintages 2018 and 2021 saw fewer number of trades, with smaller average volumes.
Despite lower trading activity, April saw monthly volume-weighted average prices (VWAP) rise by 13% on average for all technologies and vintages. Nordic Hydro production years 2020 and 2021 saw the highest increase, by 21% respectively.
