IEA report demonstrates the need to increase renewables as global CO2 emissions hit record high

As a result of higher energy consumption, CO2 emissions rose 1.7% last year to hit a new record, according to the latest report from the International Energy Agency (IEA). The Global Energy & CO2 Status Report estimated that 33 billion tonnes of CO2 were emitted globally in 2018.
