First Utility rebranded as Shell Energy, set to offer 100% renewable energy

Royal Dutch Shell has rebranded First Utility as Shell Energy and said it has switched all the supplier’s residential customers in the UK to 100% renewable electricity (green default).

The brand change comes a year after Shell acquired First Utility. The company said a survey of UK household electricity bill payers found that almost 60% wanted to power their homes with electricity from renewable energy sources.
