Air Products to certify renewable hydrogen using GOs

Gas producer Air Products has launched a European pilot project for Hydrogen Guarantees of Origin (GOs) under the CertifHy project. Air Products is one of the first companies to receive GOs for hydrogen production.

The hydrogen will be produced at Nouryon’s 200 MW chloralkaline electrolysis plant in Rotterdam which has a yearly production capacity of 18 000 tonnes. The plant uses wind power as part of its energy mix, which is sourced from the recently completed Krammer and Bouwdokken windfarms in the Netherlands. Once produced, the hydrogen will be conditioned by Air Products before injected into its established pipeline in Rotterdam for commercial use.
