Portugal and Czech Republic disconnected from the AIB HUB

Tuesday, 12 January 2016

According an AIB press release, the Czech issuing body (OTE) was disconnected from the HUB following a decision by the AIB General Meeting in December 2012. This was due to the possibility of Czech Guarantees of Origin (GOs) being double counted when exported to other EU registries. The OTE remains AIB member but cannot transact EECS-GOs any longer. The decision will be re-evaluated in 2018. The Portuguese issuing body, REN, was also disconnected from the HUB, because REN is no longer the competent body for guarantees of origin. This role was inherited by the Directorate-General for Energy and Geology (DGEG).
