AIB Ex-domain cancelation statistics

The AIB Ex-domain cancelation (EDC) statistics for Q3 detail cancelations of GOs in one country for the use abroad, i.e. primarily for non-AIB members. Q2 saw some ex-domain cancelations to Germany but for fossil and nuclear electricity. The reason for this is that these GOs are not accepted by the Umweltbundesamt (German Environment Agency).

Ex-domain cancelations amounted to 31.94 TWh between Q1 to Q3 this year. This is an increase of 7.7 TWh compared to Q1 – Q3 last year. However, compared to the same period in 2016 EDCs have fallen by 9 TWh. In 2016, a quota system on the import of EECS GOs for the use in exemption for the FiT and CfD schemes in the UK was introduced.
