EU Parliament approves RED II

The European Parliament approved four out of the eight proposals comprising its Clean Energy Package 2020-2030, also known as the Winter Package. This includes the recast Renewable Energy Directive (RED II), which sets a binding renewable energy target of 32% for member states by 2030.

According to the European Commission, the newly approved proposals bring regulatory certainty and enable conditions for essential investments to take place in the renewable energy sector.
