Breakdown of AIB Q2 Statistics

There is a general increase across all transaction statistics for Q2 2018 compared to Q2 2017 (except for expiry). Issuance rose by 24.3 TWh, an increase of 28%. Cancelations increased by 5.3 TWh, corresponding to a 11% increase. There is also an increase in both import and export, of 19% and 16% respectively. Increased cross-border trade could be an indication of rising demand in net import countries. But could also reflect increased trade optimization due to price differentials of different GOs.

Since the latest statistics were released in August, we already have transaction numbers for July. The below graph shows the cumulative statistics for January until July 2018 versus the statistics for the same period in 2017.
