Decrease in the premium for Bra Miljöval GOs

Greenfact’s analysis shows that the previously observed premium for Bra Miljöval (BMV) versus Nordic Hydro has fallen markedly since the end of last year.

The observed price difference between BMV and generic Nordic hydro GOs has averaged 17 Eurocent, or 1.7 SEK since 2011. Interestingly, this is below the 3.0 SEK/MWh ‘cost’ of utilizing the BMV label. Since the beginning of 2018, the observed premium was on average 1.6 SEK, or 16 Eurocent. BMV GOs has previously had large fluctuations with the premium being as high as 49 Eurocent in January 2017.
