The first large-scale wind farm in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mesihovina, will officially start to operate today (14 March 2018).
The project locates near the town of Tomislavgrad and consists of 22 Siemens 2.3 MW turbines with 108-meter rotor diameter, amounting a total capacity of 50.6 MW. The wind farm can cover the power supply of ca. 27500 households. Wind Farm Mesihovina cost in total EUR 82 million to build. The majority, EUR 72 million, was funded by the loan from the German State Development Bank (KfW).
