UK wind park Hornsea Project Two turbines to be built by Siemens Gamesa

Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy will be the exclusive supplier of wind turbines for Ørsted’s Hornsea Project Two offshore wind park. The wind park will consist of 300 Siemens‘ SG 8.0-167 DD, 8 MW-turbines [1]. With its total capacity of 1,386 MW, Project Two will surpass Hornsea Project One (1,218 MW) and become the world’s largest offshore wind farm.

Production for Hornsea Project One has already begun and is estimated to be completed by 2020 [2].  The site is located 120 km off the Yorkshire coast. With project Two being built adjacent as shown in the illustration below.
