Italy’s new energy strategy for 2030

Italy recently published its new national energy strategy (Strategia Energetica Nazionale, aka SEN). It aims to increase RES consumption to 28% by 2030, compared with 17.5% in 2015. For the electricity sector, RES-E is seen to account for 55% by 2030, up from 38% in 2016. The plan highlights not only the importance of repowering wind farms but also the regulatory simplification.
