The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has become the first Arab Gulf utility to adopt the International Renewable Energy Certificate system, opening for trade, and encouraging increase of renewable energy.
Dubai Carbon issued the I-RECs to DEWA’s Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, which when finished, will produce 5000MW by 2030. Today, they issued I-RECs for 13 MW, the very first in the region.
