France and Germany have agreed to cooperate on cross-border renewable energy initiatives

After meetings last week, the German energy minster Brigitte Zypries announced that Germany and France have agreed to hold joint renewable energy auctions, and to trial the integration of renewables into decentralised grids in a cross-border project “Smart Border Initiative”.
