Hungary to suspend solar feed-in: no impact on GOs

According to the Hungarian Solar Industry Association (MNNSZ), the Hungarian government plans to suspend future solar energy installations’ connection to the grid.

Last Thursday, the Hungarian Prime Minister’s Office announced that the electricity generated by planned but unlicensed solar installations will not be accepted by the electricity system for an unspecified amount of time. Minister Gulyás explained that the Hungarian electricity network cannot handle more intermittent energy supply until a major costly renovation of the country’s electricity grid is carried out.
