European Commission indicates a €300 million contribution to Africa Renewable Energy Initiative projects

The contribution is a mean to attract total investment of €4.8 billion to African sustainable energy projects, which will add 1.8 GW renewable energy generation to the continent. 

The EU Commissioner for International Cooperation and Development, Neven Mimica announced the contribution as part of the preparation of the 19 new energy projects.
