The European Union had achieved the 10% target for renewable energy share in transport in 2020, according to data recently revealed by the statistical office of the European Union (Eurostat). Included in the green energy for EU mobility are biomethane, liquid biofuels, and renewable electricity.
Data from Eurostat shows the rise in green energy share in the European transport sector from 1.6% in 2004 to 10.2% in 2020, which was slightly over the proposed target.
