The Norwegian government is pondering ways to further electrify its economy, showing that wind power can be competitive, even if other cheap energy sources are available, if the right set of conditions and policies are in place. In February, utility Statkraft revived plans for a vast multi-plant wind power complex in mid-Norway that was iced last year as “uneconomic”.
