Ireland has received State aid approval from the European Union to operate a new Renewable Electricity Support Scheme (RESS) out to 2025.
Ireland's proposed RESS has passed EU state aid rules regarding anti-competition, allowing renewable energy projects to receive state funding in Ireland (20 July 2020).
The scheme had previously received approval from the Irish government in 2018, with the first RESS capacity auction completing the qualification phase in April of this year.
