Royal Dutch Shell said on Tuesday it has agreed to buy biomethane from Denmark’s Nature Energy, in a deal that is the largest of its kind.
“Biomethane has an important role to play in the energy transition,” said Jonathan McCloy, head of gas at Shell Energy Europe, noting that it would provide a lower-carbon energy alternative for Shell's European customers.
