Global wind capacity at 650.8 GW: Renewables at core of economic stimulus packages

Worldwide wind power capacity reached 650.8 GW with 59.7 GW added in 2019 according to statistics from the World Wind Energy Association (WWEA) webinar.

In 2019, wind markets saw a high growth rate of 10.1%, compared to the 9.3% growth rate of the previous year. All the wind capacity installed in 2019 can cover more than 6% of the global electricity demand.
