Breakdown of AIB statistics 2019 last quarter

Note: The statistics reported here are for Renewable GOs only. Statistics for Fossil and Nuclear GOs have been omitted.

• 2019 saw a 10% increase in cancellations of renewable GOs, with only a minor increase in transaction issuance (1%).
• International trading activity grew 10% to 576 TWh. 
• Issuances for 2019 Q4 were down compared to the same period in 2018; this should be considered in the context of underlying GO prices.
  

2019 vs 2018

The following graph depicts transaction statistics for the last three full years. GO issuance in 2019 increased by a little over 1% from 2018, while cancellations were up by approximately 10%.

The international trading activity, reflected via import/export volumes, also grew about 10%, with 576 TWh renewable GOs traded cross-border for 2019...
