Eesti CEO urges CO2 tax on Russian power imports

The CEO of Estonian power producer Eesti Energia, Hando Stutter, has suggested that without a carbon border tax imports from Russia and other non-EU countries are undermining climate goals.

The stated-owned utility has complained for many years of unfair competition from Russia, where carbon taxes are not levied in addition to cheaper costs of production via domestic natural gas.
