YouGov, the British international Internet-based market research and data analytics firm has conducted a survey*, which reveals that 21% of German households purchased green electricity. In contrast, 64% of respondents stated that they consumed grey electricity.
Of the 64% who consumed grey electricity, 37% have considered switching to green electricity while 50% had not considered switching.
"If consumers want to make a substantial contribution to the energy transition, they should choose a sustainable eco-electricity provider", explained Lasse Schmid, Managing Director Energy at CHECK24. "At the same time, even a sustainable green electricity tariff can save you several hundred euros compared to a tariff from the default supplier [Grundversorgung]."
