Wave power is an almost inexhaustible potential for renewable energy, and unlike e.g. solar and wind, it is a constant source of energy irrespective of the weather.
Earlier attempts to exploit wave power have been offshore, i.e. 4-5 km into the sea. Effectively, this means that the installations must be moored to the ocean floor, which again leads to high costs, both installation wise and maintenance wise. The result is energy and electricity prices miles above other technologies.
