Per scientists from Columbia University in New York City, evaporation can become an alternative to existing renewable energy sources.
The mechanism is simple: A film over water surface that straightens when the air is humid, and bends when the air is dry. The output can be adjusted according to energy demand, and as a side-effect the water lost into the air can be controlled. Small scale test has been successful.
