The recent high winds across Europe helped the renewable sector reach record levels in the UK. Data taken from the National Grid around lunchtime Wednesday June 7th shows solar panels generating 7.6 GW while wind turbines totalled 9.5 GW. This combined with biomass and hydropower represented more half of the UK energy at the time of the measurement, for the first time ever.
