Council adopts position on the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive

On 1 December 2022, the Council adopted its negotiating position ('general approach') on the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD). This provides the Council presidency with the mandate to start the trialogue negotiations with the European Parliament.

The European Commission submitted the CSDDD proposal to the Parliament and Council on 23 February 2022.
