The EU’s commitment to achieving greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction by 55% by 2030 and becoming climate neutral by 2050 implies that a massive reduction of GHG emissions is needed to be implemented from now. A significant contribution to the reduction effort is required by the transport sector, inclusive of land transport, maritime, and aviation, where a 90% GHG emission reduction (by 2050) is suggested.
